Enjoy losing weight

In the southern hemisphere we're about to move into Spring and for many of us thats a signal to stir from our lazy ways associated with Winter existence and start  a weight loss progra  by shaping-up for Summer!

 Now that doesn't mean we have to losing weight by starving ourselves!  For often some good strenuous walking can do the job for us. Anyone can do this of course and it matters not where you are at the time. You walk all around your house, you walk from your house to your car; from your car to your workplace. However, if you want to losing weight walking, this kind of walking is not enough.

In order to losing weight  by  walking you need to up the tempo and speed walk at a brisk pace for at least one hour a day, everyday. You see the object is to losing weight by trying to burn fat. For eaxample: fast walking burns 300 to 400 calories an hour (depending on your weight). If you walk  for one hour a day, you stand a good chance of burning off at least 100,800 calories in a year, which adds up to a weight loss of 28 pounds in one year *. Not bad - and all without dieting. Of course, you cannot increase the amount of calories you eat and expect the same amount of weight loss. In order to losing weight by walking only, you need to maintain your current food intake at the very least.

If you would like to losing weight a little more, then making a choice to decrease your calories intake by just 200 and you will lose about 50 pounds in a year. Not bad for walking and replacing a meal with a low calorie shake!  So, If the idea of dieting hard and working out in a gym is not your 'cup of tea' you can losing weight walking. It doesn't take a lot of skill - all that's needed is a pair of comfortable walking shoes and going wherever your feet lead you. The experience can give you a feeling of exhilaration that few other activities offer.

Once you begin there's a very real incentive - you not only feel better, you feel more energy! With this comes a desire to do more walking - and the chance of course to losing weight . This is where going for a walk outdoors is undoubtedly one of the best forms of exercise there is. Not only will you losing weight but you will also get to enjoy the simple pleasures of nature at its best and come back with a feeling of achievement that you are going to recover your general metabolism and well-being- and that's awesome!
